OperationIT Pitches In To Offer Resources In Wake of Terrorist Disaster

NEW YORK, NY – September 17, 2001 - “The catastrophes of the World Trade Center and The Pentagon will not easily be forgotten in our minds and hearts,” stated a recent letter sent out to inform people of OperationIT’s offer to help those businesses and individuals directly affected by the World Trade Center catastrophe.  The letter further states,

“We at OperationIT.com have received both good and bad news about our loved ones in the World Trade Center and wish to express our sympathies and support to all the families and friends involved.  We want to help these companies rebuild their companies by offering our vast resources and services free.  OperationIT is one of the largest IT specific employment sites on the web.  We have over 150,000 IT members and 12,000 registered recruiters with a network of 70,000 additional IT recruiters. In addition, we have a staffing division that handles all computer related personnel.  We would like to offer these companies free access to our staff, resources and anything we can do to help these companies rebuild.”

Said Jim R. Ivon, CEO of OperationIT, “Our company's thoughts, prayers and support are with those injured or lost in this most tragic act, along with their families and our country's leaders.” Mr. Ivon further stated, “In the aftermath of the tragedy we have vowed to help all companies and IT professionals most affected.  We have started a volunteer center on our web site and we are spreading the word to all IT professionals that we will do what we can to help them move forward with their lives.”

In addition to providing free access to the resources stated, OperationIT (www.OperationIT.com) is offering job-seeking IT professionals free access to their Resume Flash resume distribution service. Anyone out of work as a result of the tragedy will be able to send their resume to over 6,000 IT recruiters nationwide to help in their search for employment. Normally a pay service it will be free for all IT professionals that have lost their job as a result of the tragedy.

Another initiative put forth by OperationIT since the disaster occurred is an online list of thousands of computer professionals that want to help out in this situation. “We would appreciate it if the media outlets in New York and Washington would make it known that we are offering these free services and would be glad to assist these people and companies in their hiring needs, search for computer support personnel and anything else we can do to help rebuild their companies.  Please have everyone that wants to take advantage of these services contact us,” added Mr. Ivon.
