Resume Posting Tips
Fill in the form as completely as possible.
- For "Preferred Location", choose the location
closest to where you are or are willing to work. Don't worry that
your city or area is not listed. Employers conducting resume
searches will broaden their search to include other areas in a given
state. They will find you!
- If your "Preferred Location" is more than one
area of the country, you may post your resume twice. For example,
if you live in Boston and would like to work either there or New York,
complete the form twice indicating Boston on one and New York on the
other.
- If you have no preference, choose the location
in which you would most like to work. Then in the next field,
"Location Details," add information about your location likes and
dislikes, etc..
- If you wish to work from home, choose
Telecommute.
- If you are very flexible on salary and wish to
choose "Open", remember that you will come up on client searches in
which the salary requirements could be high or low. Again, employers
will tend to broaden their search criteria while looking for resumes, so
if you select 56-75K, for example, employers will likely search that
range and possibly the range below and above it also.
- Once again, you should choose a single range,
then indicate in the next field, "Salary Range Details", whether you are
flexible, or it's the lowest you will accept, etc..
- For "Category", it is important that you select
one, even if there isn't an exact match to what you had in mind.
OperationIT.com wants to offer the greatest flexibility and yet make sure that
matches are as accurate as possible. So feel free to choose a
category and then use the "Category Details" field to expand on your
requirements.
- If you wish to make your resume private,
check the box where indicated. That way, you decide where your resume
goes and who views it. This is a key feature for candidates who are
hesitant to post resumes on the internet. If you have any questions
about this feature or any others, please fill out our contact
form.
- After you have completed the form, copy and
paste your resume where indicated and click OK to submit. That's it! You
can update your resume at any time.
- Your resume will last for six months and expires
automatically. If at any time you decide that you no longer want your resume posted, you may "Make Resume Private". If
you so desire, you may delete your resume from the system from the Applicant Center.
